A major new round of UK aid for the Syrian Kurdish forces has arrived in Irbil, Iraq’s capital. More than 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid, worth £10m, have been delivered to the Kurdish-controlled town of Sinjar, where thousands of Yazidis have been trapped by Isis militants. The UK has said it will also provide logistical support to the Peshmerga. In May, UK aircraft attacked a convoy of Isis trucks, killing six suspected Isis fighters. The convoy was transporting food and other items to displaced people and other humanitarian needs in northern Iraq, the first time UK-led forces have been attacked by Isis. A government minister also told the Guardian that the UK will provide humanitarian aid to displaced Yazidi civilians in Iraq but will not assist them in the future. Iraq’s state-run al-Sumaria news agency reported that Iraqi police had raided the home of a man who was suspected of organising Isis members to join the group. The news
