OpenAI has unveiled GPT-4, an AI which it claims is the most advanced of its kind.

After a long wait, OpenAI has unveiled GPT-4, a strong artificial intelligence model for comprehending images and words, which the organization refers to as “the latest achievement in its endeavor to extend deep learning.”

GPT-4 can be accessed right now through OpenAI’s API, but there is a waiting list. Additionally, ChatGPT Plus, OpenAI’s high-end plan for ChatGPT (their popular AI-driven chatbot), is available.

GPT-4 is our most advanced and aligned model to date, and it can be accessed via our API (with a waiting list) and ChatGPT+. Despite its impressive start, it still has some imperfections and restrictions that become more apparent after extended use.

OpenAI states that GPT-4 has an advantage over its predecessor GPT-3.5, which could only take text, as it is able to be fed with both image and text. Furthermore, it has been able to reach a performance level that rivals humans when tested on a range of professional and academic measurements. To illustrate this, GPT-3 was able to achieve a score on a simulated bar exam that was similar to the top 10% of all exam takers.

OpenAI took half a year to refine GPT-4 based on experiences gained from an adversarial evaluation process as well as ChatGPT, leading to “superior results” when it comes to accuracy, controllability and remaining within the boundaries of the pre-set parameters, the firm reported.

When discussing GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, the difference is not always clear. However, when the task becomes more difficult, GPT-4 is more dependable, inventive, and better equipped to deal with more intricate instructions than GPT-3.5, as OpenAI pointed out in their blog post introducing GPT-4.
