Dr. David Zarrouk of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and his student, Omer Guetta, have created AmphiSAW, a very effective and rapid amphibious robot. Directed by Dr. Zarrouk and belonging to the Bioinspired and Medical Robotics Lab, the robot’s movement in water is based off the flipper’s approach, and its actions on land are inspired by the locomotion of centipedes.
